Good Morning! How are you girlies (and guys?) doing? I am peachy
I got up at 5:10am this morning and hopped on the train and headed into the gym. I was sleepy, but knowing I was going to get to do the BRAND NEW BODY PUMP 73 kept me going
Um, I looooooce the new BP. I know this is a bold statement, but I think it is my favorite so far! The lunge track had not one squat in it which makes it super challenging. The chest track is HARD and so is the tricep track. Every muscle was fatigued for sure. I will say I miss the BP 72 ab track though. As challenging as that was, I kind of loved it. I think I am a masochist.
After BP, I showered and headed into work. I stopped at Starbucks to get a grande bold coffee with 2 pumps of sugar free vanilla syrup with half and half and noticed this pamphlet.
The title caught my attention right away. So I read through it. It basically gives the nutrition info for all the Starbucks drinks, which you can totally find on their website. But, I thought this section was interesting.
This section tells different options to lighten up your drinks fat and calorie wise and ways to make them more nutritious. Pretty cool, right?! It got me thinking: What are your thoughts on restaurants and coffee shops posting their nutritional facts for their customers to see? Do you feel it is a good idea that way people can make more informed decisions? Do you feel like you don’t want to know that information when you go out to eat? Do you feel it is a little obsessive?
My opinion is that it helps people make more informed choices. I think the more information people have the more likely they are to make the better choice. For those who care about those stats it gives them the info, and for those who don’t they can just ignore them. What do you think?
Breakfast today was Strawberry-Banana- Chocolate- Superfood-Protein- Oats! WOW that is a mouth full
I did a little experiment and added Chocolate Green Superfood and Chocolate Protein Powder to my oatmeal.

I finally bought my camera! After all the research and questions it is on its ways! My friend Dan is a freakin’ camera (and running) genius and I love him dearly for all the help he gave me with this! Thanks, Dan! This bad boy is on it’s way to mi casa as we speak (or type? or as you read?).
I can’t wait to be able to provide you guys with much better pictures
Well, I got to get going here! See you at lunchie!

yay for your new camera!
also, your breakfast looks kinda like beef stew! i’m sure it was delicious though!
I most definitely think it helps people make more informed decision! I think the general public can really benefit from that!
I actually recently posted about calorie counts and restaurant menus, if you want to check it out!
http://www.healthforthewholeself.com/2010/02/restaurant-menus-and-calorie-counts/
Basically, I feel like it’s important for people to be informed about what they’re putting into their bodies. But at the same time, I recognize that 1) such information is often inaccurate anyway and 2) for people who have struggled with disordered eating, broadcasting such information can be really challenging.
Love the outfit!! And the camera. Congrats on finally picking one up
I think its a great idea for restaurants to display ingredients and nutrition facts. Sometimes if they go too far it can be a bit obsessive but for the most part I can see that maybe they have customers who often ask or have suggestions.
Love love the dress. I did a project for school last year and I research all fast food places including Dunkins. Its amazing how many calories are in a bagel or a muffin!! A lot of the places I looked at (McDonalds, Burger King, etc) have very detailed nutritional facts on their websites. McDonalds even has a place where you can build your meal to see how much you are eating. They even have suggestions for dieters, diabetics, etc. I think its super important for places to make available nutritional facts. It gives people options…
It’s my first time stopping by your blog and I love it!
I live in NYC and we have had calorie counts on menus for restaurant chains in the city for a while now. I think it’s fantastic. While I know the counts aren’t perfect, at least they give me a more accurate idea than what I had in my head. Truth be told, some things have really surprised me, and I’d like to think I have a better idea than the average person. I know it has made a difference for people and I hope it continues to spread. Just heard today that Panera Bread is going to list calorie counts on their menu boards around the country by the summer!
I just tried chocolate superfood the other day and thought it was okay. Never thought to add it to oatmeal! Interesting. I do think it sounds much better than it looks!
I love that nutritional content is becoming more widely available!! I live in Seattle and out here, any chain restaurant with more than like 10 locations must post the information. If I know i’m going out to a restaurant, I look at the menu online first for the nutritional stats and make my decision then, or I ask for the nutritional menu at the restaurant and order off that. I love it! I’m already very conscious of what I eat and this helps me when I go out, which isn’t often.
I think it is nice to have the option of nutritional facts. If I am going to splurge, I will splurge, but I also don’t want to beat myself up all day imaging how many calories are in something.
Hmm….maybe a Catch 22??
I think the nutritional stats are awesome!! it shocks me but a lot of my clients think drinking calories is different from eating them….as if they don’t exist! I loveeeeee STARBS! CUTE outfit today! Hope you have a great friday! xoxo!!
Loveeeee this outfit! And kind of obsessed with your boots
