Good Evening! I hope that your night has been good! Mine has. After my doctor’s appointment, I came home, walked Oscar and headed out for a run. The weather for into the mid-50′s today and it was fantastic!!!! I had a great running partner that made the run extra fun!!!!!
Yikes we are a little sweaty, I think my hair is sticking to Adam’s head! HA! Adam and I ran 6.7 glorious miles in the nice “warm” weather. We decided it was our first official half marathon training run. We did the run in 1:03:20. Not bad!
Splits:
- Mile 1 – 9:33
- Mile 2- 9:29
- Mile 3- 9:23
- Mile 4-9:23
- Mile 5- 9:35 (we encountered some heavy foot traffic at this point- it was a bit annoying)
- Mile 6- 9:20
- Last .7 miles- 6:35
After the run we stretched, showered and I decided what to make for dinner. All I really wanted was a peanut butter and banana sandwich. No my typical dinner, more like my typical breakfast, but I really wanted it. I toasted two pieced of whole wheat bread and topped then with peanut butter, dark chocolate peanut butter and 1/2 of a banana. One the side I had some strawberries and some tortilla chips and salsa. Weird combo, but just was I wanted. I am so glad I finished off this salsa. I have been having a hard time staying away from that and the chips since they came into this house!
The rest of my evening was spent doing homework and working on some blog stuff. I have been working on creating a page attached to the blog with all the “Ask Me Anything” questions, so people can find them there when they are looking for answers to specific questions. I am also separating them by category so that makes it easier. It is pretty time-consuming, but I think it will be worth it.
Well, I am going to get everything ready for my day tomorrow and do a load of laundry before heading to bed. See you all in the morning! Have a great night!!!

sounds like an awesome run! which half are you training for? i’m doing the run to remember in boston on memorial day weekend – my first half! i’m excited.
Meg: I am doing the SAME ONE! It is my first too!!! YAY! We should meet up after!
You, Adam, Melissa, and Dan are the ones doing the marathon right? I need to make a sign and dont want to leave anyone out!!!
Yup! That sounds about right. My friend Ashley is doing it too although I don’t think you have ever met her.

im hoping to do make it alive lol. i need to pick up my pace fast if i want to get this done haha!
I’m doing a similar-length run in just a few hours! (training for a 10-mile race, though, not a half marathon) Now I’m thinking a peanut butter and banana sandwich sounds like the perfect post-run meal!
Sounds like a great run! Don’t you just love the warmer weather? Glad you had you running partner there for you too
Congrats on your first training run!!
Great job on the run outside!
Great run Ali! I did that race last year, you’ll love it!
