Hi everyone!!! I have to say I have enjoyed reading all of your top five fruits! We all have pretty similar taste (pun intended)! Top five fruit is an easy one for me, but I could not narrow veggies down to a top five, top 10 would even be a struggle! I guess I am way more of a veggie girl! Are you more of a fruit person or a veggie person?
While in class last night I sipped a decaf coffee from the work coffee maker with french vanilla half and half.

After class, I went and worked at my part-time job for a little over an hour, I got a lot done. By the time I got home I was FAMISHED! So dinner had to be quick and easy.

I made a grilled turkey and cheese with spinach and tomato on whole wheat. One the side I had some hot salsa and some Soy Flax Tortilla chips.

Dessert was the Cinnapunk cupcake from KickAss Cupcakes. This was so good. The cupcake itself was pumpkin flavored and the frosting was a sweet cinnamon frosting. The flavors were awesome together and the cupcake was hydrated (you guys know I dislike the word moist). I will be going back to get some of these for Thanksgiving for sure! YUMMMMOOOOO!

Isn’t the cupcake super cute too?! I love how the frosting is in a swirl!!! Ah, the little things….
This morning I got up at 6:30 and suited up for a run. I have not ran is 6 days, which you guys know is a LONG TIME for me. This run was HARD, I struggled the whole time. It felt like my lungs were refusing to expand! I don’t know what the deal was, usually when I don’t run for a few days, my body is ready for it. My runs after a hiatus of a few days are usually the easiest, so what gives? I think maybe six days was too long without a run for me. I know I was physically, mentally and actually emotionally as well, craving a good long run. In the end, I made it 3.81 miles as an average 8:41 min/mile speed. I guess even though it was hard, I pushed through because that is an excellent time for me.

Breakfast was another Green Monster:

Again, I made too much for the shaker, so I drank the smoothie out of a red wine glass
I am so grown up !!!!!

Fancy, Fancy!!!
Of course, I had some coffee too! This is the Starbucks Thanksgiving blend. I really like it!!! It is very flavorful, if you are a coffee lover, I really recommend it.

Today’s outfit:

Yellow cowl neck sweater (Banana Republic), Black wide leg pants (Express), Black slingbacks (Marshalls).
In Other News:
1. Yesterday, on the Today show I saw an interview with Maya Angelou who is being honored by Glamor Magazine as one of their Women of the Year. During the interview she recited a portion of her poem called “Phenomenal Woman”. Upon hearing it I stopping in my tracks, while running around getting ready for work. I loved what I heard so I looked it up and read it in its entirety. It is pretty awesome and I wanted to share it with you guys:
Phenomenal Woman
Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I’m telling lies.
I say,
It’s in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It’s the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can’t touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can’t see.
I say,
It’s in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
Now you understand
Just why my head’s not bowed.
I don’t shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It’s in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need of my care,
‘Cause I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Pretty awesome, no?! I really love it!!! It may one of my new favorites. My favorite poem (until now) was “Her Kind” by Anne Sexton. Anne Sexton is my favorite poet, I fell in love with her work during my freshman year of college! Who is your favorite poet? Ok, I am done being a geek now sorry!
2. Adam and I will be married 8 months from today!!!!!! Can you believe that!?

You are speedy girlfriend! Great job on that run.
Great run!
Sometimes I drink sparkling water out of a wine glass when I eat dinner. It makes me feel classy.
i love this poem. so neat. she’s so talented. congrats on the upcoming wedding. i got engaged about a month ago so we just started the planning process! yikes!
I have enjoyed it and have not been stressed at all (yet). Good Luck with everything.
Love the poem! Great time on your run! I’m struggling getting under a 10.5 minute mile, but I’ve only been running a few minutes.
Ha! I think you know I meant months!
I did!!!! HAHAHA! The more you run the easier it gets. Glad you liked the poem.
I don’t like that word, either! I also don’t like the word “lick”- like, “I licked the bowl.” Yikes!
I will have to pick up the Thanksgiving blend- thanks for the recommendation!
HAHAHAHA! Isn’t it funny how we dislike certain words?
I love how you feel classy when you drink the GM in a wine glass…cute idea though. I have 2 blender cups a small and large one for my GM. You should ask for a larger one for christmas so in case you dont have time to have one at home you can just take the big one to go!
