Hey everyone!!! After my last post, Adam, May, Mom, Dad and I all piled into my dad’s car and headed out to Nashoba Valley Winery for some apple picking. Once we arrived we bought the apple picking bags and were off to find some apples.

We were picking Red Delicious apples. Even thought it was late in the season, the trees were still loaded with apples.

Adam did all the climbing when we found apples that we wanted that were high up.

Here I am with my first picked apple of the season!!!!

We ended up filling two of these bags!

Once the apples were picked, my dad had to dig in. He said they were perfectly sweet!!!

The winery and apple orchard were so beautiful. I really love fall in New England!!!

After apple picking, we all decided to do some wine tasting. The wine tasting was super cheap for $4 we each got to sample 5 wines.

They gave us a glass (which we got to keep) and a wine booklet, so we would choose the wines we were interested in.

The first wine I tried was the Gravenstein, I decided to try that one because it had an apple taste.

I really liked it, I could really taste the apple flavor for sure. It was a dry white, but not super dry, which was good because I don’t really love ultra dry wines.
Next up was the Blueberry Merlot.

This one was soooooo goooooood! It was my absolute favorite! I prefer red wines to white, and blueberries are pretty much my favorite fruit, so I knew I would like this wine. But I was still surprised at how good it was. It tasted like a regular Merlot, but with a sweeter blueberry aftertaste! HOLY YUM!!!
The next one I tried was the Cranberry Apple.

I didn’t love this one, it sort of tasted like medicine!!!
I followed that with the Semi-Sweet Blueberry.

I liked this one, but it did not compare to the Blueberry Merlot.
The last one I tried was the Raspberry dessert wine, which was Adam’s favorite.

This was good, but a little too sweet for my taste.
After the wine tasting we decided to have lunch and listen to the live Bluegrass Band that they had playing outside. For lunch, I got a veggie burger that I ate open faced (the bun was huge!).

May and I split a side of mac and cheese. This mac and cheese had sage in it, which was different, I really liked it- May did not

The burger came with chips too. At first I didn’t want them, but seeing everyone eat their’s made me want mine

You know I HAD to try the beer as well!!! I can’t go to a brewery and not have beer!
The first one I tried was the Octoberfest.

It was good, but couldn’t hold a flame to the Sam Adam’s version! The second one I tired was the Scottish Ale.

This was a dark ale that had tons of flavor, I really liked this one!!!
All in all, we had a great time at Neshoba Valley! It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining and I had great company!!

Here is one with me in it, so you can see my outfit

Jeans (Express), Tank and sweater (H&M), Clogs (Dansko), Scarf (Target).
Look at the loot we brought home:

We both bought a bottle of our favorite wine.

We also got a 6-pack of beer, it was “Make your own Six-pack”
I bought some hot pepper jelly and some coffee caramel sauce to have with our apples!!!

I really wanted to have a taste of the wheat beer we brought home.

Even though I usually love wheat beers, this one was actually horrible. I hate to say that, but it was, I took one sip and dumped it!!
Adam and I watched the last half f the Patriots game and then decided to have dinner at the Warren Tavern.

I had a few of these. For my meal I ordered the salmon special.

It was a blackened salmon on a bed of greens with a side of wild rice. I used oil and vinegar on the greens. It was so good, the salmon was a little spicy and super yummy!!!!
I was feeling all the beer and wine this morning for sure. I woke up feeling pretty dehydrated! I think I may have overdone it yesterday. I will be staying away from alcohol for a while.
Breakfast was a a GREEN MONSTER and a berry bran muffin that I made Sunday.
I used some PB2 in the smoothie and it came out great!!!

Green Monster:
- Amazing Meal
- 1 banana
- vanillla almond milk
- fat free cow’s milk
- spinach
- bee pollen
- ice
- 2 tbs of PB2
- 2 tbs of chocolate PB2
Around 10:30, I dug into some trail mix that was hiding in the disaster that was the top of my fridge. I found so many treats up there that we forgot about when I organized it!

During my lunch break, I went to a spin class with my co-worker Loren. It was so fun, during the last half of the class, my quads were BURNING!!! It was a great workout!
While trying to put together a quick lunch this morning, I found this soup hiding in the cabinet. I am not sure when I bought it, but I am sure it has been sitting in there for a while!

I had the soup with kashi crackers, laughing cow cheese and a ripe pear! The pear was sooooo good! I love juicy fruit when it is in season!

Today’s outfit!

Clogs (Dansko), Brown Tights (Target), Cord Skirt (GAP), Sweater (GAP), Scarf (H&M). I wanted to wear my brown boots, but my calf is tight from running and the heel did not feel good at all!
I got to get back to work! After work I have class, and then I am going to this event!!!
See you guys later!

Too funny…I went to the Nashoba Valley Winery yesterday too. I didn’t pick apples but we did the tasting and took the wine tour.
My favorite wine was the Baldwin. My boyfriend didn’t like it so I didn’t ask to bring a bottle home.
I made apple crisp out of those apples and its pretty tasty… its the red box mix and you can substitute the butter for fat free vanilla yogurt. YUM!
oooh the apple picking looks fabulous! Love the wine tasting.
Looks like a blast. Now I want to go apple picking and wine tasting. I’ll have to work on the hubby for that one.
Blueberry wine….yum. I’d probably end up drinking the entire bottle though!
Love the scarf. Don’t they dress up the most casual outfits? I have so many my boyfriend thinks they take up to much room in the closet.
I hope your calf feels better soon!
I’ve got that scarf that you wore on your apple picking day too… you have great taste.
Hope you have a great time tonight and that your calf feels better soon!
I’ve never tasted Sage. But the Green Monster. Yes. It killed me.
what a gorgeous day for apple picking! I love blueberry flavor in alcohol. it’s so refreshing! I had a blueberry mojito once that was pretty amazing.
