After we met some lovely cows, we went to The Root Cellar for brunch. I started with a water and a coffee:
Crystal, Kara and I decided to split this as an appetizer:
Brazilian French Toast: soaked in vanilla run sauce, and topped with Cinnamon sugar.
we topped it with maple syrup TO.DIE.FOR!
For my meal I ordered the veggie breakfast wrap (I forgot to ask for egg whites again…I can’t believe it, it is usually the first thin out of my mouth) it had eggs, cheese, spinach and onions. yummmm
I had a piece of turkey bacon too:
Look that the fresh fruit cup I got (apples, strawberries, cantaloupe, grapes and orange).
After brunch we met up with Kara’s sister Laura, and when tubing on a River. It was soooooo cool. You rent tubes, load up a cooler with beer and put that on a tube and just float for like two hours. There are tube chutes too which are fun! We drank a few different kinds of beers on the river, but I couldn’t take my camera because I had no where to put it and didn’t want to risk it getting ruined…and it would have!
One of them was the Shiner Bock we had the night before. There other three were:
Tecate (brewed in Mexico)
Lone Star (brewed in Texas)
Southern Star Bombshell Blonde (Brewed in Texas and my new favorite).
After tubing we met Kara’s parents at the Salt Lick.
Here is a picture of me and Kara’s dad. I am so excited I finally got to meet him!
Don’t you love that he is a Red Sox Fan?!
While we waited for our table I had two beers:
and other one, but the picture isn’t uploading for some reason sorry! For my meal I had the Turkey and Brisket (I had to eat red meat…I was in Texas). It came with potato salad (sooooo good, not made with mayo
) and coleslaw.
and a whole bunch of these pickles:
yummmm the meal was so good. BBQ in Texas in so different…in a good way! I also tired a beer called “Lobotomy” it is called that because it is stronger than an average beer.
I kind of look like I just got a Lobotomy!
For dessert me, Kara and her dad split a half blackberry, half peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream…it was pretty good.
After dinner, we decided not to go out and went to Kara’s and sat on the porch while drinking beer
This is the meat pit at The Salt Lick…insane huh?
Here is us with Kara’s dad after dinner! Thanks for dinner!
After dinner we decided we were too tired to go out so we had a few beers on Kara’s porch while chit chatting!
I think I had one of each. As tradition, Kara and I split some organic spaghetti O’s
we also snacked on Salsa and chips:

Sorry so dark
I went to bed before the other girls I was so tired. When the alarm clock went off at 6am, I was so tired and not wanting to go home yet
We packed up and were at the airport by 7:30. When we got to the airport we stopped and got some organic dark roast coffee with half and half.
We also got breakfast tacos (our last Tex-Mex meal). I got mine without bacon
I only had a few potatoes…they were salty! During our lay over in Houston I got a small ice cream: Mocha Madness (coffee ice cream, choc chips and walnuts) with sprinkles. SO.GOOD!
On the plane we were served lunch…the only thing that seemed like it looked good to me was a small side salad, so that was all I ate.
Luckily, when I got hungry I had a peanut butter power bar in my purse and I ate that
like my Tie-die dress? I got it at the thrift tore in Austin
I will post a full pic of it next time I wear it! Once we got home, Crystal drove back to CT and I was ready for a nap. I got in bed and passed out for two hours. After the nap, I got up and unpacked. Adam and I decided to order in…I got a small pizza with spinach, eggplant, feta and artichokes…AWESOME. I ate two pieces.
I also got a salad
It had spring mix, roasted red peppers, cheese, pine nuts and walnuts. I ate it with balsamic vinegar.
blurry! Sorry! I only had a few bites…can you guess what my lunch was? After dinner (we had a late dinner) we watched a little TV and I read a chapter in The Time Traveler’s Wife (I am 250 pages in now and loving it)!!! Around 10pm I was fast asleep.
This morning I decided to wait until i got to work to eat breakfast. I had a yogurt in the fridge here and some cereal in my draw. By the time I was able to it was 11am…I WAS HUNGRY!
Today I am wearing a cute dress I got from Buffalo Exchange in Austin

I added my own pink belt from Urban Outfitters (I got it a while ago for 9.99). Close up!
and the shoes were my gold coach sandals
I finally stopped for lunch and went for a walk with Mel to catch up. When I got back I ate while I worked, lunch was the left over salad from last night with a can of tuna added.
and a kiwi that was intended for breakfast, but never got eaten then.
Well, tonight’s plans include working at my par-time job, a run and chest/triceps workout and a trip to the grocery store…See you MUCH later!
